May 25 & May 26, 2011

Bruce Conner Bruce Conner catapulted himself with his masterful films alongside Stan Brakhage, Jack Smith, Jonas Mekas and Andy Warhol in the Pantheon of the US independent film and today meets the spirit of the times. The outstanding craftsmen and virtuoso innovator of the film devoted to two programs. The genius of his music clips avant la lettre "America is Waiting" (1981) and "Mea Culpa" (1981) with music by Brian Eno and David Byrne as well as "Mongoloid" by Devo is unmatched. Works such as "Cosmic Ray" (1961) or "His Eye Is on the Sparrow" (2006) belong to the most entertaining as well as moving works in the history of the medium. In collaboration with the Conner Family Trust and the Kunsthalle Zurich.
